I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilminton

with a BA in Elementary Education in 1996.

I earned my MAEd in Instructional Technology

from East Carolina University in 2014.

I was a classroom teacher for 14 years at Swansboro Middle School until I made the move to my current position here at HCE. While I was at Swansboro Middle I taught science and sometimes math and science.  I have also taught fourth grade and eighth grade math.

I was born and raised in the Boston area of Massachusetts.  In 1982 I move to North Carlolina with my husband, Pat.  Pat retired in 1996 after 20 years in the Marine Corps and we chose to remain here in Onslow County.  Pat holds a doctorate in educational leadership.  He currently works for NCSU as director of the Science House and does education outreach for the Center of Marine Science and Technology in MHC.

We raised two daughters, Megan and Erin, who both graduated from Swansboro High School.  Megan was a Teaching Fellow and graduated from UNCW and holds a graduate degree from ECU.  Erin graduated from NCSU with a degree in biomedical engineering.  She recently completed doctorate in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University.
