My name is Mrs. Michelle Taylor, and I am very excited to be continuing my career at Hunter's Creek Elementary.  My family is very important to me.   I am originally from South Carolina, which is where my parents and brother still live. My husband, Michael, is a retired Marine and we have three children: Charlie, Drew, and Ryleigh. Charlie attends Carteret Community College, Drew is a senior at Swansboro High School, and Ryleigh is in the seventh grade at Swansboro Middle School! We have two dogs, three cats, and six chickens who keep us pretty busy.

I have teaching experience in several states: South Carolina, California, Indiana, and North Carolina. This is my twelfth year in Onslow County Schools, although I've been teaching since 1993!  I have taught all grades K through eighth (except fifth).  I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Francis Marion University and my Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading from Grand Canyon University. I am currently earning a second Masters in School Administration from East Carolina University.  I will graduate in May of 2018!

My hobbies include reading, working on the computer, spending time with my children and husband, and finding new ideas for my classroom. We love to watch soccer on the weekends and find fun things to do with our children.  I think this Fall we will spend quite a few weekends traveling to ECU for football games!  Did I mention our house is full of sports fanatics!?!
